1. Who we are

2. What data we process

We process only the data the service needs to work:

• your account email address, display name, securely hashed password, locale, and role
• names and SMTP credentials of your trail cameras
• photos and EXIF capture time your cameras send to LesEye, plus detection results — category or species, confidence, and time
• the device push-notification token and platform (iOS or Android)
• IP address, time, coarse request metadata, and login, delivery, security-check, and rate-limit outcomes
• transient Cloudflare Turnstile and Firebase App Check tokens and verification results (Google Play Integrity or Apple App Attest/DeviceCheck), used to distinguish a legitimate registration from a bot or modified app
• only when error diagnostics is configured: error type and stack trace, app or backend release, operating system, and device or runtime context; customer text, request bodies, and tokens are removed before sending

3. Trail camera photos

Our AI analyzes photos solely to identify the animal species. We do not sell them, share them with third parties, or use them to train models without your consent.

4. Where data is stored

Primary account, detection, and photo data is stored on servers in the European Union. Resend delivers transactional email. Google Firebase and Apple deliver push notifications; Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity or Apple App Attest/DeviceCheck verifies that native registration comes from the legitimate app. Cloudflare protects web traffic and Turnstile checks for registration bots. Hosted error diagnostics is used only when configured; the intended provider is Sentry or another Sentry-compatible provider named here. Limited technical, verification, or delivery data may be processed in the United States under appropriate international-transfer safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

On the current free plan, photos are kept for 14 days after upload; older photos are deleted automatically. Live data is removed within 30 days after account cancellation. A push token is kept until its device is unregistered, the token is replaced, or the account is deleted. Turnstile and App Check tokens are verified and are not stored as account data; only verification outcomes and aggregate operational counts remain on the security-record schedule. Diagnostic events are not sent until a provider is configured. Before enabling it, the provider project must be set to retain events for no more than 30 days; that limit is configured by the provider, not enforced by app code. Access-restricted database and configuration backups are kept for no more than 7 days; SeaweedFS photos are not included. Deleted database records may remain until a backup expires, and backups are used only for disaster recovery.

6. Waitlist

If you leave us your email address on this site to be notified when a spot opens up in the open beta, we store it solely for that purpose — based on your consent. We delete it once we notify you, or sooner on request — just write to [email protected].

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access your data and get a copy
• correct inaccurate data
• erasure — the “right to be forgotten”
• object to processing
• lodge a complaint with your data protection authority
